Our story

During COVID, like many of us, we found ourselves wanting more space to grow our family. We were living in Seattle and I was pregnant with my first daughter when we moved into a duplex. My small backyard and a single 4×8 raised bed became a world of delight.

That first year I made so many gardening mistakes it still makes me chuckle. Simple things that now feel intuitive were then like learning a new language: overwatering seedlings, planting too close together, and trusting too-optimistic seed packets. I learned about soil structure the hard way, discovered which pests were just curious vs. destructive, and learned to celebrate small wins — a single thriving tomato plant felt like a triumph.

Those mistakes taught me more than any book ever could. They planted the seed of something larger: a love for creating, working with my hands, and teaching my girls a beautiful skill.

Lots more to come, Lord willing..
